What the Claddagh means

The hands are friendship, the heart is love, and the crown is loyalty. It started in the fishing village of Claddagh outside Galway, Ireland, and it's been given between friends, mothers and daughters, and couples for about three hundred years.

The stone

A heart-cut created opal, set in four prongs, with that blue-green-pink fire that shifts as your hand moves. Created opal is stable and doesn't dry out or craze the way natural opal can, so it holds up to everyday wear.

The band

925 sterling silver, stamped inside the band. Celtic knotwork on both shoulders, polished all the way around. Nickel free.

It arrives ready to give

Sizes

Available in 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. We keep only a few of each size on hand, so the less common sizes go first.

Care

Take it off before the pool, the shower and cleaning products. Sterling darkens over time; a silver polishing cloth brings it right back. Keep polish off the opal.
